My daughter received a different Whiskerhaven book as a gift and we read it constantly. She loves all things animal related. I finally started looking for more and came across this one. The story is cute, just the right length to hold and keep a toddler’s attention, and (maybe best of all) isn’t just a word-for-word retelling of one of the cartoon episodes. Glad we added this book to our collection.My three-and-a-half year old daughter loves Palace Pets and she and her twin brother love it when I read them several stories before bedtime. I came upon this story a few months ago when we were planning our road trip and I wanted to get my kids some new books to help keep them occupied during the long car ride. I hadn't heard of the Whisker Haven tales but discovered that it is a magical world where the Palace Pets travel. I figured anything related to Palace Pets would be a big hit with my daughter and I was right!Berry's Sweet Surprise is a story of Berry, Snow White's pet bunny who discovers an egg as she is looking for berries. The egg hatches and Berry has a new duckling friend to play with. Berry and the duckling have fun eating, swimming and playing hide-and-seek. Soon, the little duckling needs to get back to his family but Berry will never forget the fun times she had with her friend.Like all Little Golden Books, this book measures 6 1/2 inches by 8 inches, has hardcovers, paperback pages, and a gold spine. This story has 24 pages, colorful pictures, and several sentences on each page, or set of pages. It takes us about five minutes to read, or closer to 10 if we spend more time talking about the story or looking at pictures. We have a lot of LGB and this one fits in well with our collection. Since this book is mostly about a bunny and duckling, it would be very appropriate for spring and Easter as well as any other time of the year.My daughter loves this story and we read it occasionally but we also have so many stories to read that we don't read it too much. Still I'm glad we bought it because my twins enjoy me reading it to them. Palace Pets seems to be marketed towards girls but my son likes listening to it as well. My kids love the Palace Pets stories and I would recommend this one to anyone looking for a book for a Palace Pets fan!This book is SO cute. Perfect spring/Easter gift. My daughter is a big Palace Pet/Whisker Haven fan and she absolutely loves this book.It was sent as a gift.I love the bright vibrant colors in this book and the animals are so adorable. It is a tale of a lost egg found by, Berry, the rabbit who takes it in and cares for it. On the end, the mother duckling and baby find one another.Really good
