I haven't used this in the car yet. My trip keeps being postponed. I set it up in the house so my cat could become comfortable with it before the trip. When I had an appliance delivered, I put my cat in and was going to zip up to keep her safe and out of the way. I discovered that one of the zippers is broken. Unfortunately I did not discover this before my return window closed. Thankfully, my cat is pretty mellow so I am hoping I can still use it. It seems well made otherwise. There is plenty of room for a litter box and bed. My cat likes to lay on top of it also. I have traveled with a lot of cats and wish I had had something like this before. I recommend this but, be sure to check the zippers the return expires!I purchased this carrier to transport my cats across country. The carrier has four rods. There is no pocket for retention so they pop out and the carrier collapses. The metal end reinforcement came out of the end piping and went through my fingertip.I took my cats from Oregon to Tx in this thing. I wanted them to be able to move around and stand if needed, and ultimately didn't want them to be uncomfortable if they needed the litter box. The bottom is not sturdy so I added a cardboard cutout in the same measurement to sturdy the bottom. That was enough for two hefty cats when transporting them out of the car etc. The privacy screens were nice and I think helped my cats feel more secure and it fit perfectly in my backseat (prius). I put the litter box on one size with some added velcro which I attached to the cardboard to keep it from shifting, but it didn't need it. For some reason, the cats both couldn't get enough of the litter box so they both sat it in for the majority of the trip. It was weird, but they didn't complain too much, so I guess it works. It was nice not having to take them both out separately to use the litter box and they liked it, so I just kept it in there and scooped it when we stopped for meals. I also gave my cats some calming chews and sprayed some pheromone stuff to aid the transition. I think the combination of all three made for a much smoother ride than i originally thought it would be.We use this for our three cats when driving to a campground with our RV. Put a familiar blanket on the bottom and they were all relatively calm. Lots of "windows" so they can see outside and see us. When we get to the campsite, we lift the whole thing with all three cats in it and bring it inside the RV. Helps to reduce the stress for all of us.Well made, and can handle two adult cats. I am not sure that I would let them claw at this, but it is very secure and great for my three cats. It gives shade and the mesh panels permit air flow. I feel my cats are safe and secure in this enclosure. They can see the birds and relax, and be outside without escaping. What I was looking for was a secure enclosure to keep the cats in, and this was very hard to find. I happened onto this item and am just thrilled with its performance. I first put my cats into it, then secure them with the zippers, and then can gently slide it out onto my deck. If you want your animal outside on the ground, likely best to load the cat and carry out. I still do not leave them out alone on the ground, as we have dogs that roam, and I do not trust the dogs not to attack the cats in this. I think it is superior to anything else out there I have seen. Looks like you can wash it down- it is made of nylon like material. It is about four feet long, and my cats, who are all quite large, can sit in this without looking squished. Great item so far!My cats learned to open the zippers from the inside and got out several times. I then used twisty ties and ultimately a quick release lock to secure the zippers. However, one cat broke out by chewing through the canvas next to the zipper. It is a good product and my cats enjoyed it, but they must be supervised when they use it. My cats did not even think of getting out of the enclosure the first summer I had it. This happened the second year of use, so don't be fooled by thinking your cats won't do this. Unfortunately, one of my cats died during the last escape - attacked by my neighbors' two dogs, just two weeks ago. I was making breakfast and watching them from time to time through the storm door, so it happened pretty quickly. They were in their enclosure and then they were gone. Check the canvas for signs of bite marks or wear, lock the zippers, and never use it unsupervised to avoid this heartache.I gets the job done of containing my cat who marks when I'm sleep or leave the house. I can fit a litter pan in there and he still has plenty of room to move around, stand, stretch out and even walk a bit and he's 20 lbs. BUT, it's not water resistant so the peeing he does while inside comes right through and is on the hardwood floors of my place. Big drawback for me with this product but I still use it daily and like it very much. I just put a garbage bag underneath it to get around that problem...it's a messy process but it keeps the pee off the floor. Due the pee, it smells so the great feature about this product is that it's very easy to clean. I can put the entire thing in the tub & soak it with ammonia or bleach and it comes out nice and clean.Fits perfectly in my SUV with my cat facing the front. He is able to Sydney and I can talk to him while I’m driving. That seemed to calm him and reduce his anxiety.Well, to be more specific Clara - our cat - loves it!We have an indoor cat but got this so she could spend some times safely outdoors. She loves it so much that every morning at 6am she's meowing to get out lol.Really good quality, perfect size, and the flaps can provide extra shade.great for kitty. Decent size.. enough for litter box and bed and water. He cant get out, unless he goes nuts and scratches it to bits...Packages up very well and easy to put together. would fit across an entire back seat of a mid size car or SUV.WOuld like it if it came with a carry bag.Great Product, easy to assemble. I spent much time deciding which 'outdoor run' product to buy. Out of all that I looked at this had the best reviews. I like the fact it had the shades and could be dual functional if taking cats in a long journey. Shakespeare my youngest cat loves sitting in it outside and playing in it inside.I returned this. I had purchased it for my cat to place in the shade. It was like a carry case; too small and unnecessary for the price.As described well made use it all the time goof travelling
