DANGER!!!!!This toy is very bad for dogs, especially puppies! LOSES STRINGS YOUR PUP OR DOG CAN SWALLOW!!! My 11 week Dalmatian pup has been chewing on this as instructed ( after all IT IS A CHEW TOY FOR PUPPIES AND DOGS!) this became unraveled turning into an ice cream looking toy, looking as though it was still totally intact. I've been removing all the loose strings I thought and allowing my pup to continue to play with it Supervised! He's had it 3 weeks. I had to throw it away today after at some point he'd swallowed a large, long piece of string! This can cause intestinal problems and recurring trips to the vet. After taking him out to do his business, it looked as though he hadn't gone completely. I wiped his bottom and this little thing Sticking from his bottom would not wipe off. I got a baby wipe and pulled on it and a long, thick piece of string actually came out of his bottom. This could have gotten wrapped around his intestines and caused an enormous amount of serious problems! People that say they can watch their puppy every second...well I found out today this is absolutely not possible, as I thought. I'm retired and he's with me all day until bed time when he goes in his kennel, with no toys. Please be careful with this toy, even with cats! On the other hand I also bought the yellow giraffe, and haven't had this problem yet, but as I said be careful with these string toys, they love them but I'm going to take the giraffe away also. It's simply not worth the health of my puppy!I thought this rope chew toy would be durable with our Chi-Pin, but Johnny is smart. He managed to find the ends of the rope on it's ears, arms and legs. He tugged them loose (the ends were just tucked inside, not tied off) and now it is unraveling. I re-tied the strings on the arms and legs, but the poor thing has all these loose ends sticking out of it's head. My husband calls it the Bob Marley "Rasta-Bear" now (for it's "rope" hair everywhere). Johnny still loves it and the body and head are durable, but the rest was weak. This thing is super adorable, but don't let the picture fool you. It is extremely small. I didn't realize how small it actually was. It's maybe half the size of my forearm and I got it for my 80lb husky. When I pulled it out of the bag, he absolutely wanted it right away and he loves playing with it, but it's just so tiny! I was expecting something about the size of maybe half my arm, not a quarter of it! HahaMy dog is an avid chewer and this was pulled apart. However, I admit I did not have to deal with stuffing or a squeaker and it still has some life left.not sure if it's the product or the dog. My chocolate lab was able to get thru this toy within an hour.It was cute but not for a tough chewer. Yellow lab, 3 years old, had it apart in less than 10 min.Not really a cat toy unless your cat is huge. Too big and hard for my cats to enjoy so I gave it to my friend who has a Husky. It's very well made - tightly weaved. I don't know if it survived the husky...but it was just too big for my kitties. If they made a miniature version (3 or 4 inches long) my cats might have been more interested.Got chewed up very quickly. Cute but didn't last with a big chewer.
